After Taney Dragons pitcher Mo’Ne Davis pitched her team into the Little League World Series and challenged Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw to a pitch off, the baseball world took note and tuned into today’s game against South Nashville.

Mo’Ne didn’t disappoint. She struck out eight on way to pitching a shutout and became the first girl in LLWS history to win a game. Some of baseball’s brightest stars tweeted recognition of her performance, including Chipper Jones and Mike Trout.

Next up for the Philly phenom will be a Sunday date with the winner of the Texas/Rhode Island game. While it’s fun to imagine how far Mo’Ne could take her pitching talent after her Little League playing days are over, the honor roll student has her heart set on playing college basketball for U Conn.
