In the long history of bowling only twenty-five people had managed to complete three consecutive perfect games. That was before Hakim Emmanuel got on a blistering hot streak at Westgate Lanes in Brockton, Massachusetts.

What makes the 38-year-old right-hander’s accomplishment all the more remarkable is the fact he had never bowled a 300 game before – let alone three in a row.

''It was so quiet you could hear a needle drop. That's when you get nervous yourself. You know everyone's watching you.”
— Hakim Emmanuel, on bowling the last frames of his 900 series

Once Emmanuel’s feat is officially verified by the U.S. Bowling Congress, he will receive a 900 series gold ring. Not too shabby a bounty for an afternoon’s work at the local bowling alley.

EARON VOLLMAR’S 900 SERIES

In baseball terms, a 900 series is about as rare as a pitcher throwing a perfect game. Incredibly, the 25th 900 series was tallied just last month by Earon Vollmar at New Glass Bowl Lanes in Toledo, Ohio.

JOE SCARBOROUGH’S 900 SERIES

The first ever 900 series in a Professional Bowler’s Association event came in 2013, when North Carolinian Joe Scarborough got in the zone during qualifying at the PBA50 Sun Bowl held in The Villages, Florida.
