In the fall of 2014, Georgetown, Texas’ East View High School made up a two-touchdown deficit to edge Vandegrift 42-41. Following the game, Patriots wide receiver Apollos Hester delivered a masterful postgame interview that quickly went viral.

APOLLOS HESTER MOTIVATES

''You're going to battle. You're going to fight. Win or lose, you're going to be all right. Regardless of the scoreboard, you can do anything you work for.''

— Apollos Hester, East View running back

Nearing 11 million views on YouTube, Hester’s video garnered the attention of two separate ESPN segments on his over-the-top enthusiasm.

Naturally, his speech was then given the auto-tune treatment in a sing-song rap called “Scoreboard.”

HIGHLIGHT REEL

Lost in the hoopla over Hester’s speaking skills was the fact that he had shown potential to play at the next level as evidenced by his highlight reel.

MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER

It’s unlikely Hester will ever find himself living in a van down by the river, but if he does, he can parlay his gift of gab into a motivational speaking role a la SNL’s late, great Chris Farley.
